Chicken Spaghetti: Russian Books for Kids
Earlier this week, when I wrote an article on Russian literature, a reader asked me about books for children. I turned to the listserv by email Child_Lit and Twitter to help them, and look! All these great photo books on Russia, the Russian folk tales, and Russian-American experience. A collaborative position, as is my favorite genre. Thank you very much to everyone who suggested books. (I can always add to the list, too, if readers know of others.)
I'm amused that the translator of several books of Samuel Marshak, described to me as Dr. Seuss' Russia ',' Richard Pevear, who with Larissa Volokhonsky, translated from the edition of war and peace I'm reading. adventures of a dog picture book to Tolstoy very epic for adults, the work of a translator must be fascinating.
