Overclock3D :: Review :: SteelSeries Siberia V2 :: Introduction
Helmets are a complex thing. Adding a microphone usually means a considerable increase in prices on a standard set of headphones, and in some respects, because they are for the PC brigade games / also means that they are more expensive a similar pair.
Sometimes it is a source of great frustration when you're reviewing a product which is only average, as it becomes even worse in light of the ridiculous price tags.
As online gaming becomes more popular and people begin to meet for LAN gaming sessions, then a headset is something that is an expense inevitable.They are also useful as a VoIP device Fortunately if you do not want to splurge on a dedicated phone.
So, with their uses as all pairs of headphones around, but with VoIP applications and Teamspeak, requirements on headphones are numerous and there must be someone special to be able to adapt the All these different uses in one product.
Fortunately SteelSeries made their name with exceptional headphones and the Siberia, has proved very popular. Today I take a look at the update of Siberia, unsurprisingly called V2 Siberia.
Before taking a look at the data sheet, let's take a look at what has been updated on the Siberia headset V2 new:
1. It sports an "invisible" retractable microphone system that comes out of the left ear cup. 2. Increased 50mm speakers will amplify the bass and volume and improve the frequency response of 10-28,000 Hz 3. New closed ear-cup design that offers thick leather cushions constructed from foam insulation to increase the isolation of noise outside.4.The primary cord is shorter optimized for use with mobile devices and comes with an additional extra cord for use with desktop computers.
It's nice to see a real list of improvements. Sometimes, manufacturers may be guilty of "refresh" a pure product to boost sales, even though nothing has really changed. Not the case here with all the updates are significant....
