Ed's Corner: Raketa Braille Watch Review
. The product page seems to have a full range of watches available, including the Braille watch. (The pages load very slowly, be patient). There is even an animation clock to 2005 floating in it and a photo of a timetable Raketa watches with a scale running date until 2012. Another page on the site has a watch face in 2003 visible on him.I met some speculation that Raketa never failed, but rather attempted to create the illusion that their products are rare to raise prices (see Braille watch appears to use a chrome case with snap-on stainless steel back. The case measures 38mm wide at its widest point (diagonally) and 34 mm directly on the face (with crown 37mm). Moreover, the width of leg is 18mm. The movement is the hand Raketa the wound 17 jewel 2601. The watch is water resistant at all, a fairly common problem with Rakete. To use Braille, a button on the crown releases a spring hinge holding the crystal. The watch hands are made of thick steel and can be handled without any fear of damaging them. For this reason, there is no second hand. Finally, the dial of the watch has raised markers to allow reading by touch. It takes a little practice, but it works very well. The watch has not yet lit. Personally, I find the Raketa be a beautiful and well-built mechanical watch.I can not comment on the precise accuracy that the watch has no second hand, but it seems to be good for about a minute or two a week which is really good. I particularly like the way this watch is not very good publicity for its specialized functions. It really looks no different from most other watches and if you do not already know it was a show for the blind, you probably would not guess. This sort of elegance in design is something that seems sorely lacking in my eyes when it comes to products for people with disabilities....
