Is this basis to continue with a new government in Kyrgyzstan?
Russia sent paratroopers to its military base at Kant in the Central Asian country of Kyrgyzstan that the Kremlin gave its support to self-proclaimed provisional government, Russian RIA Novosti news service reported Thursday.
The goal of about 150 paratroopers to protect the families of Russian military personnel in Kyrgyzstan, Ria Novosti quoted the Chief General Staff Nikolai Makarov, after demonstrations in the capital Bishkek dozens dead and hundreds injured .

“The president has decided to send two companies of paratroopers there and some 150 people have arrived in Kant,” Makarov, who is with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in Prague for the signing of a new arms deal with the U.S., was quoted.
The Russian airbase was put on high alert, according to Defense Ministry sources, while the U.S.said that its air base at Manas in Kyrgyzstan continues to operate.
Russian base at Kant, 12 miles east of Bishkek, has been operating since 2003 and has about 400 Russian military.
Russia supports the new provisional government Kyrgyz opposition protesters who took power in the capital and in several other regions of the former Soviet republic, according to Ria Novosti. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has spoken in opposition to new Prime Minister, Roza Otunbayeva, who sought the support of the Russian economy.
"It is important to note that the conversation took place with Otunbayeva in his capacity as head of a government of national confidence," spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Mr Putin told RIA Novosti.
Russia is ready to assist Kyrgyzstan in humanitarian aid.
Otunbayeva, former foreign minister, said the Parliament was dissolved and she would head the interim government. She said that the new government controlled four of the seven provinces and called on President Kurmanbek Bakiyev to resign. She said he had fled from Bishkek to demand support in the central region of Jalal-Abad....
